Once treasured, now generally neglected. Its pages shaped Welsh culture, defined morality, and gave purpose to countless lives - yet today, many barely know what it says.
This free exhibition & series of discussions is designed to introduce you to the Bible, help you uncover its true meaning and understand its relevance in today’s world. You are invited to a free exhibition and a series of public talks designed to unlock its amazing message and explore what it means for you.

Step into the rich tapestry of Welsh history at the Welsh Bible Exhibition at Newcastle Emlyn in May 2026.
This unique private collection features rare first editions of Welsh Bibles, including the seminal 1588 translation by Bishop William Morgan. Through informative panels and historical artefacts, the exhibition narrates the profound impact of the Welsh Bible on the nation's language, culture, and religious life.
Guests learn about pivotal figures like Mary Jones, whose determination to obtain a Bible inspired the founding of the British and Foreign Bible Society. They explore how the translation of the Scriptures into Welsh not only preserved the language but also fostered a surge in literacy and spiritual awakening across Wales.
The exhibition is free and open to all ages, offering a captivating experience for anyone interested in the intertwined history of faith and Welsh heritage. It invites all to rediscover the enduring significance of the Bible in shaping the identity of a nation.
